Self proclaimed nerd, Alex ‘Hood’ Fuller loves writing, movies, playing chess, superheroes, comic books, and sci-fi. He is author of 3 books. His first book: The A-men: Mark of the Demon, introduced us to the A-men, a powerful league of angels and select human allies (Miracles) who fight against the kingdom of darkness. He has also written Plus Size, about a young African-American woman who must overcome the cruel labels of others based on her plus-sized frame, and her own self-doubt to release the hero inside. His latest book, Into The Furnace, continues the saga of the A-men as they pursue the Silver Tongue, an artifact which possesses power to shape reality as a demonic army chases hot on their heels.
Hood Fuller integrates traumatic themes that young black people experience into an epic fantasy, using his writing to explore daunting issues facing young adults today, including self-esteem, depression, suicide, spiritual integrity, purpose and self-empowerment. He writes and speaks on these issues as a form of ministry.
Hood has also written and directed four full-length plays: Unto Us, and Rebirth, both of which take a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the spiritual warfare that occurred during the birth of Christ and the Resurrection. His newest plays are a series: Thy Servant and Thy Servant Condemned tell the story of a church in the throes of a spiritual and political battle in their search for a new pastor and the chaotic fall out when their new Pastor’s former life comes back to haunt him. In addition to his writing, Hood currently serves as a musician at New Hope Baptist Church of Christ.
